County Information:

Big Horn County, which is 3.2 million acres, is located in south central Montana, bordering Wyoming.  The county has a population of over 13,000 people with 3,700 living in the county seat of Hardin.  The Crow Indian Reservation is located in the southern part of the county, and part of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation is located in the eastern portion.  Major industries of the county are agriculture and coal mining.  Agriculture includes beef cattle, dryland and irrigated farming, sugar beets, alfalfa and small grains.  Three attractions in the county are the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument/Custer National Cemetery, the Big Horn Canyon National Recreation Area and the Crow Veteran's Memorial Park.  Crow Agency is the home of Little Big Horn College.  Diversification of population and geography are keys to Big Horn County's uniqueness.
